What are you doing to make yourself memorable to your ideal prospect?
One of the most important things that you can do, not only to make yourself memorable, but to make a connection with your ideal prospect, is to have a professional headshot. A professional headshot is so important because it personalizes you. We are in a social media world, where people only know you by your picture. If your picture on your Facebook page, on your website, or on other social media profiles is a picture that’s just of your puppy or a logo or something else, then you’re not going to be as effective in making that connection with your ideal client.
Your ideal client is very much interested in your ability to solve their problems – their biggest problems. A real person solves people’s problems, so your ideal client wants to know that they’re dealing with a real person. Again, not a logo, not a picture of you where you can’t hardly tell who you are. They want to see a nice, clear photograph of you, so that they can make that connection with you.
When I first started my business in 2010, I looked at other people’s websites, and I noticed that my biggest competition had the most awful photograph. I figured, “Okay, at the very least, I can have a nicer photograph than they do.” So that was my start of using the headshot strategy as a way to set myself apart, to connect with people, and to make that real connection. In fact, I have a photograph of myself or a headshot of myself on my business cards, on my website, of course all of my social media channels, and even in my email signature. Your headshot is powerful, so make sure that you invest in a nice headshot, a nice, well-lit picture of you with a clear background.
