quickbooks browser tips and tricks

As we become more tech-savvy as a society, so many of us are now using multiple monitors. Just yesterday, I visited a client who was using 3 computer monitors at his desk. Did you know that with just a few QuickBooks Online browser tips and tricks you too can work with QuickBooks in multiple windows in your browser?

Let’s go over these easy QuickBooks Online browser tips and tricks.

1. Use Google Chrome

Have you been blaming QuickBooks Online for working slow? It’s not the QBO – it’s your browser. Google Chrome works faster and better than any other browser. Many new users complain that QuickBooks Online doesn’t work right when in fact they are probably using Internet Explorer.

Be sure to download Google Chrome and you will see how much better QuickBooks Online runs.

3. Work in Multiple Tabs and Windows

Did know that you can work in multiple windows or tabs in your browser? In Google Chrome, right click the tab and select Duplicate to open another tab.

This opens a duplicate tab in your browser as shown below.

This is helpful if you want to work with the Customer Center in one tab, for example, and work with invoices in the other tab. You can work on the invoice in one tab and look up customer notes in the other tab.

You can also work with multiple reports. Open the Profit & Loss report in one tab and Balance Sheet in another report.

You can work with any number of open tabs in QuickBooks Online. I do this all the time because I can work faster – I don’t have to close one menu or window to get into another one. Try it and you’ll see how easy it is.

Be careful – if you make a change in one tab and wish to work on the tab – refresh the second tab so that the changes will be reflected in the other tab.

4. One Click Reports

You can run your favorite reports without having to go to the Reports Center. Open your favorite report – like the Profit & Loss. Bookmark the report in your browser by clicking on the Star icon as shown below.
